SOCCSKSARGEN Region is set to receive Php 1.24 billion from the Php 16.4 billion barangay development fund allotted by the national government for the implementation of the Executive Order No. 70 this year.

Also dubbed as the Whole of Nation Approach program, EO 70 aims to end communist-armed conflict in the country.

A total of 62 barangays in the Region originally cleared and identified by the National Task Force – End Local Communist-Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) for CY 2020 will receive Php 20 million each as support to barangay development programs (SBDP) under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF).

Members and prime movers of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) have basically set the course for 2021 in a recently held Program Assessment Cum Convergence Meeting at the Green Leaf Hotel in Gen. Santos City. In attendance were the city and municipal local government officers, partner agencies, local government units and the LEO 70 focal persons.

The Mahintana Foundation Incorporated (MFI) successfully conducted the Project Launcing and MOU Signing of the ProPEACE Programme held on February 18, 2021 at The Farm @ Carpenter Hill, City of Koronadal, South Cotabato.

The activity was graced by Assistant Secretary Alexander L. Macario of the DILG Central Office, MFI President, Martiniano L. Magdolot, Ms. Liza D. Hora, MFI Executive Director and Mr. Nicholaos Yiannakis, Vice President and Managing Director of DOLE Philippines, Inc.

“We say congratulations to the LGU for successfully implementing these projects for the people,” Department of the Interior and Local Government XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido Leysa, CESO III said as she lauded Kabacan town in Cotabato Province for turning-over 14 completed local projects funded by DILG to its barangays.

Last February 17, Kabacan formally turned-over one evacuation center, three local access roads, two Level II potable water systems, and eight rehabilitated and enhanced potable waterlines to its 12 barangays during a turn-over program hosted by the LGU at Waterland Resort, Barangay Osias of the said town.
