“Appreciate your jobs. Do your best.”

This was part of the central message of RD Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III for all the personnel and staff of the Regional Office during the first and second working weeks of 2021.

RD Leysa welcomed the handful of regular employees in attendance during the first working day on January 4 since contract-of-service (COS) workers were still to go through their scheduled virtual interviews and they were given time to prepare needed documents for renewal.

In its continuous fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, the City of Tacurong in Sultan Kudarat has proven its commitment to look after its constituents through the construction of its own isolation facility.

The fully operational 28-room, 5.24-million peso building was the latest addition of structures to the city government’s site in Brgy. Katungal, Tacurong City. The facility is close to the city’s nursery and it has become a landmark in itself, being the “very first Bayanihan grant funded project in Region XII.”

About a hundred of DILG and LGU GAD focals and advocates virtually gathered on the 14th day of December for a one- day “Orientation on GeRL Assessment Tool” via zoom videoconference. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII in collaboration with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) highlighted GeRL tool as useful for the achievement of gender- responsive and seamless delivery of services in the local government units.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) XII are now in talks with the local government unit of Tantangan, South Cotabato for the turn-over of the public market project funded by DILG.

Located in the town’s Barangay Poblacion, the public market features a well-ventilated two-storey building, with two stalls each for meat and fish products in the ground floor and 12 more stalls in the upper floor.

COTABATO CITY - Cotabato City has now officially become part of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao during a turnover ceremony on December 15 at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Center (SKCC).

The historic turnover was witnessed by DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Año, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, PNP Chief P/BGen Debold Sinas, USec. Marjorie N. Jalosjos, DILG undersecretary for Mindanao Affairs and Special Concerns, Usec. David Diciano, who represented Sec. Carlito Galvez and Finance Sec. Carlos Dominguez III was represented via Zoom app by Usec. Bayani Agabin.
