Davao City, December 18, 2024 — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region XII conducted a benchmarking activity in Davao City to study the acclaimed Peace 911 program, a transformative initiative that has successfully fostered sustainable peace and inclusive governance in conflict-affected areas.

 

The DILG XII delegation, led by Regional Director Atty. Rochelle D. Mahinay-Sero, CESE, included Provincial Directors, Division Chiefs, members of the Executive Committee (Execom), and EO 70 Support Staff. They were warmly welcomed by LGOO VI Jessica R. Casas, who represented City Director Vicky P. Arcenas.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII's Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD) successfully conducted a comprehensive three-day training on the Management of the Dead and Missing Persons (MDM) at the Venue 88 Hotel and Events Place in General Santos City on December 4-6, 2024. The training aims to capacitate the selected participants to develop/enhance their competencies on MDM, specifically on the policy frameworks, component, protocols, standards, guidelines, reporting forms and templates, and systems of coordination and interoperability in the performance of their functions during emergencies and disasters.

A two-day Calibration and Retooling Activity for QMS Secretariat and Streamlining Focal Persons was held last November 26-27, 2024, in Quezon City, Metro Manila, which was attended by Atty. Jane S. Torreon, Regional Legal Officer and QMS Secretariat Head and Hannah Artieda, the Streamlining Focal Person. The event commenced with an Opening Remarks from Mr. Romar B. Panganiban, Chief of the Management Division of the DILG Central Office - Financial Management Service, who emphasized the significant role of effective QMS implementation in enhancing government service delivery.

The DILG XII EODB Team composed of the Regional and Provincial Focal Persons with the participation of the Bureau of Local Government Development (BLGD) successfully conducted the seven-day audit starting on November 22, 2024 and November 25-29 2024 to December 2, 2024 to the select first class non-automated LGUs of the region.

The 2024 Dagyaw Town Hall Meetings, spearheaded under the Support for Local Governance Program (SLGP) managed by Rehiyon Dose, have once again solidified their role as a cornerstone of participatory governance. These nationwide sessions, led by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), brought together Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Local Government Units (LGUs), and oversight agencies to promote collaborative governance and citizen engagement.
