The Department of the Interior and Local Government Rehiyon Dose recognized the Most Outstanding Sangguniang Kabataan for the first time in the SOCCSKSARGEN Region last November 14, 2021, during the Regional Awarding Ceremony of the Governance Exemplars for Meaningful Service for SK (GEMS for SK).

The ceremony was conducted at The Farm at Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City, South Cotabato, attended by the Members of the Regional Management Committee headed by DILG Dose Regional Director Josephine Cabrido- Leysa, CESO III, SK Regional Federation Officers, C/MLGOOs, and other partners in the Monitoring and Evaluation Teams.

This was quipped by RD Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III as she welcomes to Region XII the two-man team of evaluators from Local Government Academy (LGA’s) partner local resource institute (LRI) and LGA to conduct evaluation proceedings for herself and other interviewees and respondents as she gets included in the shortlist from among the 17 regions in the country as a nominee to the “Tatag ng Agila” of the Capacity Development Awards for Catalysts of Excellence or CapDev ACE.

To effectively implement various LGSF-SBDP projects for FY 2021 in Cotabato Province, DILG XII’s Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) held a five-day quality assurance assessment and technical assistance on November 15-19, 2021 for the PLGU Cotabato Engineering Office.

The PDMU team was spearheaded by DILG XII SBDP Focal Person Engr. Francis Earl G. Caldedero, with members composed of the following: Engr. Elaine Rose C. Llupar, from the Regional Office, and Engrs. Krisnan Panisa, Freddie Pedroso Jr., Geoffrey Villaga, Ivan Roy Cabangon, Shelo John Adaya and Marlo Taghoy from the DILG Cotabato Provincial Office.

November 8, 2021 became a memorable day for the Municipality of Maasim as DILG XII formally turns-over various projects worth Php170 Million under the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) Projects for 2017 and 2020. These projects include the concreting of NHW Jct. Malbang – Boundary T'boli Provincial Road (Phase 1) worth Php80 Million and the Concreting of Kyumad Bridge worth Php90 Million respectively.

In her message, Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III called on the recipient communities to “take care of the projects” which will directly affect and benefit 3,106 households.

National Government agencies cannot impose specific programs, projects, and activities for local governments to absorb come Full Devolution due to the latter’s fiscal autonomy.

This was highlighted by DBM XII Assistant Regional Director Atty. Libertine Cagang – Guanzon  during her interview at PIA XII’s Performing and Informing Program recently.
