On March 13, 2024 at Cinco Niñas, DILG Rehiyon Dose took part in the pivotal 1st quarter Adolescence Health & Development Program Technical Working Group (AHDP-TWG) Meeting. This crucial gathering brought together key stakeholders from various sectors, including the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippine National Police - South Cotabato Provincial Police Office (PNP-SCPPO), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), and the League of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation Presidents of Sarangani, General Santos City, and Sultan Kudarat. Additionally, representatives from REACH Health USAID and Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP) Region XII actively contributed to the discussions. Hosted by the Department of Health - Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) SOCCSKSARGEN REGION, with OIC Assistant Regional Director Dr. Fatima A. Emban presiding over the meeting, the event served as a platform for fostering collaboration to address crucial issues related to adolescent health and development in the region.
The event commenced with a warm welcome and opening remarks from the OIC Assistant Regional Director Dr. Fatima A. Emban of DOH-CHD SOCCSKSARGEN. Dr. Emban's message set the tone for a session marked by constructive dialogue and collaboration aimed at advancing the welfare of adolescents in the region.
The agenda featured a comprehensive discussion by Dr. Arly I. Wines of AHDP to the the newly elected SK Federation Presidents providing crucial insights into the program's objectives and initiatives. Updates on AHDP-TWG resolutions, presentation of Harmonized PPAs, and the 2024 Action Plan further enriched the discourse, offering a roadmap for collective action in the coming months.
Rehiyon Dose’s Ms. Ana Louwel Cabrido shared insights from the previous year's achievements, highlighting the significant strides made in AHD Program Implementation for the 4th quarter of 2023, particularly in engaging with the Sangguniang Kabataan and addressing various aspects of adolescent health and development.
The meeting concluded with a synthesis of discussions and a forward-looking approach towards collaboration and partnership.
