In a continuing effort to involve various stakeholders in the advocacy on Federalism, the DILG XII facilitated the conduct of the Multi-Stakeholders Forum on Federalism cum Consultation with CSOs/NGOs/POs – Batch 2 last 26 October 2017 at the Farm @ Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City. The forum was participated in by various regional line agencies, civil society, peoples and non-government organizations, and  representatives from academic institutions. Hon. Cyrus Torreña, a member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Sultan Kudarat served as the resource speaker. The first batch of the forum was conducted last September 27, 2017.

One of the ten (10) point socio-economic agenda of the President is to improve competitiveness and ease of doing business. The Department acknowledges the vital roles of the LGUs in providing the right atmosphere and business climate to encourage investors and improve economic growth.

The DILG XII, as one of the lead agencies in the Streamlining of Enhanced Business Permit and Licensing System (BPLS), conducted the Provincial Orientation on Joint Memorandum Circular No. 01, series of 2016.

At the Regional Center, Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City the officials and employees of DILG XII gathered on the early morning of October 5, 2017 for the dedication and blessing of its new 3-Storey Regional Office Building worth P 28,891,081.52 with a space of 1,764.15 square meters and a land area of 2,625 square meters.

The DILG XII, in pursuing the Department’s mandate to spearhead the advocacy on Federalism, conducted last September 27, 2017 at the Farm @ Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City the Multi-Stakeholders’ Forum on Federalism Cum Consultation with CSOs/NGOs/POs. The activity was participated, among others, by the local chief executives, NGOs, POs and some representatives from the academe and professional group. Atty. Benedicto Bacani, Executive Director of the Institute for Autonomy and Governance based in Cotabato City, a policy institute that promotes peace, development and good governance in conflict and post-conflict affected areas in the southern Philippines, was the resource speaker.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII conducted the Roll- out Training on Strengthening the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council to the showcase barangays of the region namely Barangay Poblacion, Malungon and Barangay Gumasa, Glan,  Sarangani Province.  The activity was held on August 21-23, 2017 at the Sarangani Highlands, General Santos City and participated by Punong Barangay, Chair of the BADAC Committee on Operations, Chair of the BADAC Committee on Advocacy, Chief Tanod and CSO or NGO representative from the two (2) showcase barangays.
