DILG XII Conducts the Roll- Out Training on strengthening the Barangay Anti-drug Abuse Council

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII conducted the Roll- out Training on Strengthening the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council to the showcase barangays of the region namely Barangay Poblacion, Malungon and Barangay Gumasa, Glan,  Sarangani Province.  The activity was held on August 21-23, 2017 at the Sarangani Highlands, General Santos City and participated by Punong Barangay, Chair of the BADAC Committee on Operations, Chair of the BADAC Committee on Advocacy, Chief Tanod and CSO or NGO representative from the two (2) showcase barangays. 

On the Opening Remarks of DILG Sarangani Prov’l Dir. Flor G. Limpin, he emphasized the needed participation of the constituents within the barangay and the commitment of the barangay officials in eradicating illegal drugs and corruption. Sharing his views on the  current situation of  Marawi City, PD Limpin  encouraged the participants to be watchful of their surroundings especially those suspicious looking people within  their barangay.

The three- day activity covered the discussion on the Current State of National and Local Drug Problem; Drug Identification and its Ill effects; Human Rights- Based, Gender- Sensitive, Child Friendly Approach in the performance of BADAC duties; RA 9165 and EO 15; DDB Regulation No. 3; Barangay Drug Clearing Program Legal Bases and Functions of BADAC, and formulation of BADAC Plan of Action   Integrated to BPOC Plan, which was the output of the said training.
