The Regional Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (RIMTF) conducted the Monitoring and Evaluation of the Functionality of P/HUC/ICC’s Local Council for the Protection of Children in Region XII from April 23, 2018 until April 27, 2018 for the Local Government Units of Cotabato Province, Cotabato City, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, and General Santos City.

The Project Development Management Unit (PDMU) of DILG Regional Office XII together with DILG Provincial Office conducted Coordination Meeting with the CMGP Local Road Management Team to the four (4) provinces of Region XII on May 15-18, 2018. The objectives of the said meeting is to Apprise the provinces on the updates and deliverables in the implementation of the CMGP Program, and to Increase the awareness, understanding on the processes and guidelines of the CMGP Program.

The Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System (GFPS) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region XII conducted its 1st Quarter Meeting for CY2018 at Dolores Tropicana Resort, Tambler, General Santos City on April 12-13, 2018. The 2- Day activity was designed to review GAD Plan and Budget (GPB) and to come up with a strategic implementation of the program.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office XII (DILG XII) issued Certificate of Accreditation (COA) to Movers for Rurban Rehabilitation and Development towards Federalism (MRRD-Federalism, Inc.)- Region XII Chapter as an advocacy partner in its Transition to Federalism Project on April 23, 2018 after complying with the all the requirements provided in the DILG Circular No. 2017-21 dated 13 September 2017.

SOCCSKSARGEN’s economy expanded by 8.2 percent in 2017, faster than the 4.9 percent growth in 2016. The expansion of the regional economy was driven by the recovery of the Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing (AHFF) industry.

Services accounted for the largest share of the region’s total output at 40.2 percent followed by Industry at 36.8 percent. AHFF had the smallest share at 23.0 percent.
