The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has shown the province of South Cotabato its support in cascading the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in its component cities and municipalities through the Roads2SDGs Project.

“Efficient, resilient, and well-planned road networks ensure that no one is left behind in the drive for inclusive growth. It serves as an important foundation in attaining the Sustainable Development Goals,” said DILG Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO V as she welcomed the participants and guests during the two-day event facilitated by South Cotabato in partnership with DILG and United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

Thirty seven engineers and architects recently passed the Accreditation on Constructor’s Performance Evaluation which was given last September 11-13, 2019 at the FB Hotel in Koronadal City during the conduct of Training Workshop on Constructor’s Performance Evaluation System (CPES) sponsored DILG-XII’s Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU).

The Regional Validation Team, composed of the DILG as the Chairperson, and representatives from PNP, BJMP, BFP, PPSC-RTC, CSO representatives from Mahintana Foundation and the local media as members, conducted the validation of LGUs in compliance to DILG MC No. 2019 – 121 dated 29 July 2019 or the Presidential Directive during the 4th SONA of the President to Clear Roads of Illegal Structures and Constructions.  The implementation of the said Circular in the cities of General Santos and Koronadal was scheduled on September 16, 2019 and in the municipality of Isulan and Tacurong City in Sultan Kudarat on September 17, 2019.

With the issuance of Executive Order No. 70, the Regional Task Force on ELCAC SOCCSKSARGEN Region facilitated the cascading of the regional line agencies’ IMPLANs and ELCAC deliverables to the four (4) Provincial Task Forces during the conduct of the RTF-PTF Joint Meetings in South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and Cotabato Province.

Geo-tagging is a salient point in the Local Road Asset Management of the Provincial Local Government Unit as it provides accurate, complete, and updated maps of provincial road infrastructures and facilities under the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) Program. With this in mind, the Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) conducted a Capacity Building on Basic Geo-tagging and Routeshoot Operation, Processing, and Uploading last September 3-4, 2019 at FB Hotel in the City of Koronadal which was participated in by around 20 attendees from the four provinces under Region XII.
