The Department of the Interior and Local Government XII (DILG XII) is urging the public to support the country’s frontline workers by imposing ‘self-restrictions’ as the country continues to battle COVID-19.

In a statement on August 3 during the regular Monday convocation, DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III urged the employees and the public to “act as if we are on ECQ”, despite the Region being under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) for quite sometime now.

Region XII recorded a 97.16 percent delivery rate, roughly translating to 411 on-going and completed Local Government Support Fund projects in the Region, based on a recent Memorandum signed by Undersecretary Marivel C. Sacendoncillo, CESO III.

This data covers LGSF projects funded from the years 2016 to 2018, the Memorandum further stated.  Region XII has a total of 423 LGSF projects within these years.

LGSF is the national government’s financial subsidy for Local Government Units (LGUs) to implement their priority plans and projects, as provided in the General Appropriations Act.

On July 23, 2020, the Department of the Interior and Local Government XII through the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) hosted a virtual reorientation activity on Confidential Funds Utilization and Accomplishment Reporting, Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan (POPSP) Updating and Review, and the monitoring of POPSP – Performance Compliance Monitoring System (PCMS).

Region XII remains second in the list of regions with the highest compliance rate in the Subaybayan ang Proyektong Bayan (SubayBAYAN), the official platform used to monitor and report the progress of Locally Funded Projects (LFPs) of the National Government across the country.

Based on a Memorandum signed by Undersecretary Marivel C. Sacendoncillo, CESO III, SOCCSKSARGEN gained an overall rate of 82 percent as of June 25, 2020.

Region I remains on top of the SubayBAYAN ranking with a rate of 83 percent, a mere one percent lead from Region XII.

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has formally approved the release of the Php 64.3 million budget to jumpstart the implementation of the road and potable water projects in Cotabato.

DILG-PDMU XII said a total of nine projects composed of three road concreting, two road upgrading, and four potable water system projects were approved based on a letter from the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr).

Two of the road concreting projects will be implemented in the Municipality of Libungan and one in the Municipality of Aleosan. Meanwhile, road upgrading projects will be implemented in the Municipalities of Alamada and President Roxas.
