The Liga ng mga Barangay General Santos City Chapter in coordination with DILG General Santos City and Bureau of Jail and Penology conducted a five-day training on Barangay-Based Rehabilitation Program (BBRP) for the Masa Masid Teams of the twenty six (26) barangays of General Santos City last March 1-5, 2017 (1st batch) and March 13-17, 2017 (2nd batch) in Davao City in relation to the implementation of the Masa Masid Program which mandates the organization of a Masa Masid Team in the barangays and delineated its roles and responsibilities in the a) Advocacy and Education Campaigns; b.) Information, Gathering and Reporting; and c.) Community based-Rehabilitation.

The intensified government drive against illegal drugs resulted in the voluntary surrender of more than 7,000 drug users/pushers in the Province of Sultan Kudarat. Consequently, there is the need to evaluate each one of them to determine their level of drug dependency subject them to rehabilitative processes as the case warrants.
The DILG being the lead convener of MASA MASID, a program designed to heighten community involvement by mobilizing the support of local stakeholders, volunteers, civic organizations, faith-based organizations, and the private sectors in the fight against illegal drugs, criminality and corruption, has provided an avenue for the Province to conduct an orientation for a core group of local government functionaries who will be in charge in ensuring that the MASA MASID Teams and Volunteers can effectively and efficiently deliver the needed intervention for drug surrenderers.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government, as the Vice-Chairperson for Disaster Preparedness, convened the member-agencies for the second quarter meeting for CY 2017 on June 20, 2017 at Hotel de Viajera, Koronadal City. Among the agencies who participated are OCD, DSWD, NEDA, DepEd, DENR-EMB, DENR-MGB, PIA, DOH, CHED, BFP, PNP and 1002nd Brigade of Philippine Army.
The Bottom-up Budgeting (BuB) / Assistance to Disadvantage Municipalities (ADM) strengthens the convergence of the delivery of the national services to the community through the genuine involvement of grassroots organizations and communities.
The DILG XII, as the lead Agency of the Regional Poverty Reduction Action Team (RPRAT) and selected member-agencies conducted the project monitoring and evaluation under BuB/ADM program in Maitum & Maasim, Sarangani Province on August 2-4, 2017. The team was composed of the BuB/ADM Regional/Provincial Focal person/s of the following agencies; DILG, DTI, DA, and DSWD.
