The DILG XII conducted the Gender Sensitivity Training (GST) cum Assessments on the Gender Responsiveness of BuB/AM Projects on September 5-7, 2018 at the Mt. Sabrina Panoramic View and Resort, General Santos City

The activity successfully trained the GFPS and C/MLGOOs on gender sensitivity, capacitate them on assessing BUB/ADM project/s using the HGDG tool, and analyze the gender issues in the whole project development and implementation cycle.

Resource Persons were technical officers from Philippine Commission of Women (PCW) – Technical Services and Regional Coordination Division (TSRCD) Ms. Jeanette Kindipan-Dulawan and Ms. Elizabeth B. Omas-as.

DILG XII Regional Director Reynaldo M. Bungubung, CESO IV thanked the PCW for providing the needed technical assistance on GST and Assessment of BuB/AM Projects to the P/CDs and C/LGOOs of the region.

Ms. Rommelyn A. Damasco, LGOO V of DILG XII facilitated the introduction of participants and expectations setting. In their expectations on the training content, the participants expressed a need for a discussion on Local GAD Planning and Budgeting, which was not in the program. As a result, the training team had to set aside two (2) hours on the afternoon of the second day to accommodate the said expectation. Ms. Genevieve Marie Pudadera, LGOO III of South Cotabato Province served as the resource person on the topic.

The discussion on Gender Analysis (GA) elicited an enthusiastic response from the participants. There was an expressed interest from the participants aired by CLGOO of Tacurong City Alberto Sero which was to learn GA further as deemed it necessary in surfacing gender issues. Participants were able to present their experiences in applying the HGDG design checklist.
