The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII conducted the Orientation Course: Priming Leaders for Effective Local Governance to all Re-elected Municipal Mayors, the second component of the Program for Newly Elected Officials (NEO), on August 1-3, 2019 at the East Asia Royale Hotel, General Santos City. The participants were the re-elected mayors of the following Municipalities of Aleosan, Arakan, Kabacan, Midsayap, Pikit, Alabel, Malungon, Maitum, Banga, Polomolok, Surallah, Sto. Niño, Tantangan, T’boli, Bagumbayan, Isulan, Pres. Quirino, and Senator Ninoy Aquino.

Municipal Government Units were recently oriented by the Department of the Interior and Local Government XII on the guidelines and procedures of this year’s implementation of the Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig sa Lahat (SALINTUBIG) and Assistance to Municipalities (AM) Programs.
Thirty-three (33) municipalities from the four provinces joined the orientation facilitated by DILG XII - Project Development Management Unit (PDMU) at Paraiso Verde, Koronadal City last August 1 and 2.
Earlier, the PDMU conducted the same orientation to the12 municipalities from the Region sometime in April.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya assures the people of SOCCSKSARGEN Region that the Duterte Administration will pursue its plan for constitutional reforms despite its non-mention during the Executive’s recently-delivered State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Usec. Malaya gave the announcement during the Open Government and Participatory Governance Regional Town Hall Meetings in the Region, dubbed as Dagyaw, held at EMR Famville in Koronadal City last July 25, where he was the keynote speaker.
In line with the government’s continuous push to reach communities and bring public services closer to people, the DILG Regional Office XII, along with other partner agencies, successfully conducted the 4th Open Government and Participatory Governance Regional Town Hall Meetings, dubbed as Dagyaw, for the whole of SOCCSKSARGEN Region at EMR Famville, Koronadal City last July 25.
"The concept of Dagyaw is very simple. It's about bringing government projects to the people," said DILG Undersecretary Jonathan E. Malaya during an interview.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government XII lauded the Provincial Government Units’ support and commitment in the implementation of projects under the Conditional Matching Grant for Provinces (CMGP) Program in the Region.
DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO V, applauded the local government units during the agency’s CMGP Mid-Year Evaluation which was attended by CMGP focal persons, civil society partners, and local road management teams from the four provinces held at FB Hotel, Koronadal City last July 29 to 30, 2019.
