Region XII SAP hits 90.52%; Sarangani first to complete payout

SOCCSKSARGEN region has reported a 90.52% accomplishment rate under the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) after 40 of its local government units (LGUs) successfully completed the distribution of the program’s first tranche of financial aid, Department of the Interior and Local Government XII confirmed. 

As of 7 PM on May 8, DILG XII-Operation Center confirmed 38 municipalities and two cities from the region successfully completed their respective SAP payout which include all 7 municipalities from Sarangani Province, 10 municipalities and 1 city from Sultan Kudarat, 5 municipalities from South Cotabato, and 16 municipalities and one city from Cotabato. 

Sarangani ranked first among the provinces to complete the SAP payout in the region. The province received Php 299, 370, 000.00 as financial aid for their identified poor family beneficiaries. 

Cotabato Province comes second with the highest number of completed SAP distribution at 99.97%, followed by Sultan Kudarat province (99.03%), and South Cotabato (92.85%). Meanwhile, the Cities of Cotabato and General Santos reported an accomplishment rate of 98.39% and 53.84%, respectively. 

Only eight LGUs remain to have not completed yet the SAP distribution in the Region, which include Municipality of Tulunan in Cotabato, President Quirino in Sultan Kudarat, and Municipalities of Lake Sebu, Polomolok, Sto. Nino, Surallah, Tantangan, and City of Koronadal in South Cotabato. However, all these LGUs have already achieved at least 71% to 99% accomplishment rate in SAP distribution as of May 8.  

LGUs who have yet to complete the task are given until May 10 to complete the SAP payout in their respective areas, the latest and last extension given by DILG. Local governments were initially given until April 30 to complete the payout and was first extended until May 4. SAP deadline for “high risk” areas was previously extended until May 7.

To help boost LGU’s morale, Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Lesya, CESO III announced that provinces will receive an award from the Department depending “ on their rank” of completing the financial aid distribution.

 These “little awards” will serve as prizes for their quick distribution of the people’s financial subsidy. Leysa have yet to disclose the awards for the provinces.
