The Local Government Academy (LGA) of the DILG conducted last September 23, 2016 an activity dubbed as Federalism Express (FedEx) with the theme “Moving Towards Change: Strengthening the Response of the DILG to Federalism and Other Priority Programs of the Department”. Federalism Express was aimed at equipping and enhancing the department’s knowledge and readiness towards change to federalism.

In celebration of the National Peace Consciousness Month this September 2016 with the theme “Peace Ta sa Komunidad: Peace Month Serbisyo Caravan”, the DILG XII participated in the Serbisyo Caravan spearheaded by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) on September 22, 2016 at Brgy. Ilian, Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat. The activity was also participated by different regional line agencies, the local government unit of Esperanza, and the Province of Sultan Kudarat.

The DILG XII, through the leadership of Regional Director Reynaldo M. Bungubung, CESO IV and in cooperation with the Bureau of Local Government Development (BLGD) and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), conducted the Brief Orientation cum Launching of the Public-Private Partnership for the People Initiative for Local Governments (LGU P4) on September 23, 2016 at The Farm @ Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City. The Regional Crisis Management Committee under the Regional Peace and Order and Council (RPOC) XII, and the Regional Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee (RLECC) XII conducted a joint meeting on September 6, 2016 at the FB Hotel, City of Koronadal, to come up with a concerted efforts in addressing criminalities and corruption in the Region, and to shed light on the President’s declaration of “State of Lawlessness”.
Atty. Dinah Jean Cornejo of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) comprehensively discussed the legal parameters of the “State of Lawlessness”, which clearly brought further awareness among the members of the committees.

Pursuant to the DILG Memorandum Circular No 2016-103 on the conduct of the Regional Council Elections of the Provincial Board Members of the Philippines (PBMLP) within one hundred fifty (150) days from the date of their assumption to office under a new term, the PBMLP electoral exercise was set for Region XII on August 30, 2016 at Villa Amor Koronadal City.
