The Department of the Interior and Local Government XII recently trained the seven pilot local government units, namely; Arakan, Magpet, Makilala, Polomolok, Tupi, Bagumbayan, and Libungan in the formulation of the Enhanced Local Climate Change Action Plan (E-LCCAP). The LCCAP Core Team composed of the MPDC, MENRO, MDRRMO, Municipal Agriculturist, Municipal Engineer, MLGOO and IT Expert were the participants of the activity. The core team is tasked to spearhead the updating/formulation of the ELCCAP with coordination to the key local officials and other stakeholders.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government XII remained supportive in producing ICS cadre among its organic personnel. In coordination with the Office of Civil Defense, the office conducted the Level II of the ICS-Integrated Planning on December 10-14, 2018 at Paraiso Verde, Koronadal City. Seventeen of the twenty participants pass the five-day training and now eligible to proceed to the next level, the Position Title Course. The remaining three level will be conducted early next year.
The ladderized training on ICS aims to arm the DILG Officers on the various DRRM mechanisms to fulfill better the role of the office as the Vice-Chairperson for Disaster Preparedness.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII in partnership with DTI XII, BLGF XII, SKSU, and NDDU, conducted the Training on the Formulation of the Local Investments and Incentives Code (LIIC) Program 2018 on October 22-23, 2018 at the Villa Amor Hotel, Koronadal City.
The DILG XII, headed by Regional Director Reynaldo M. Bungubung, CESO IV, successfully conducted the “Assessment of Comprehensive Development Plans (CDPs) for Component LGUs, HUC, and ICC Orientation cum Assessment Simulation”. Participants from the fifty four (54) Local Governments Units (LGUs) in Region XII were clustered in two (2) batches and simulated the CDP Assessment last November 06- 07, 2018 and November 08- 09, 2018 at Sarangani Highlands, General Santos City and Agua Frio Hotel, Koronadal City, South Cotabato, respectively.
The Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) is implemented by the Department (DILG) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) in partnership with the United Nations Development Projects (UNDP) and the PLGUs. This project aims to address underinvestment in local roads, to increase the access of the rural population to services and economic opportunities, to improve road safety of provincial roads and to reduce travel cost and time by improving local road information management, public financial management, and procurement.
