The Department of the Interior and Local Government XII used the existing partnership of the Local Government Academy with the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority to train the C/MDRRMOs, C/MPDCs and GIS Experts of the identified twenty two (22) LGUs in the Region on GIS program using the Quantum GIS software on September 17-21, 2018 at Ellis Suites, General Santos City. It was the sixth batch of GIS Training and the last for this year as provided in the Memorandum of Agreement between LGA and NAMRIA.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII in partnership with the Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU), Tacurong City, spearheaded the Writeshop on the Preparation of Enhanced Feasibility Study (FS) for the five (5) LGUs in the Region, namely: Cities of Cotabato, General Santos and Tacurong; and Municipalities of Columbio and Tampakan. The three-day activity (August 29-31, 2018) at Villa Amor Hotel, Koronadal City was participated in by SB Chair of Economic Affairs, Local Engineer, Local Planning and Development Coordinator, Local Accountant/Budget Officer, and C/MLGOOs.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government continues to develop a project monitoring system to keep track of the progress of projects in every localities. Project monitoring system is for the organization and project itself to see how it is doing against objective, whether it is having an impact, or if it is working efficiently.  It also acts as an easy access tool for the citizens or beneficiaries to give feedbacks about the ongoing and completed government projects.

The members of the Federalism Speaker’s Bureau of the DILG XII were invited by the Philippine Councilors League Sarangani Federation during their Mid-Year Provincial Assembly on July 16-17, 2018 at FB Hotel, Koronadal City.

Federalism Focal Person, LGOO II Relmie Tamson, a Member of Federalism Speaker’s Bureau, introduced the concept of federalism and its difference with the existing unitary form of government while Regional Project Officer on Federalism, Anne Joy Toledo-Sanchez, gave a glimpse on the successes of the federal countries around the globe in bringing basic services to the people.

The Project Development Management Unit (PDMU) – 12 in coordination with the Office of the Project Development Services (OPDS) conducted its first Consultative Conference for Water Projects under the SALINTUBIG Program for Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) on August 16, 2018. The Participants are the City/ Municipal Engineer, Accountant, C/MPDC and the Local Chief Executives of the following recipient LGUs of 2016 SALINTUBIG, viz: Basilan (Lamitan City, Maluso, Sulu, Hadji Panglima Tahil, Patikul), Tawi-tawi (Sibutu, Sitangkai), Maguindanao (South Upi, Sultan Sa Barongis, Mamasapano, Pagalungan, Paglat) and Lanao Del Sur (Mulondo, Piagapo)
