As more good news (with some bad news) about the release of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) funds abound, DILG XII RD Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III, called on the citizens to emulate the exemplary deeds of fellow residents from Region XII who opted out from being recipients of the SAP, knowing fully well that there are others who are ‘more deserving’ as beneficiaries.

Expecting a surge in the number of requests for repatriation from distressed and stranded Overseas Filipino Workers scattered in various regions in the country, DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Ano directed all DILG regional directors and field officers, BARMM minister of local government and other concerned to establish the “DILG Overseas Filipino Workers’ (OFW) Desk and the designation of DILG-OFW Desk Officer at the region, province, highly urbanized city (HUC) and independent component city (ICC)”.
DILG XII RD Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III, urged local government officials that it’s ‘about time’ to prepare their ‘post-lockdown economic plans’ in anticipation for the gradual easing of the community quarantine measures in the region.
With a few days before the supposed deadline of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Region XII, Director Leysa RD issued the call, together with the Regional Covid 19 Task Force and Task Group, to ensure that all LGUs will be in lockstep with the rest in the Region.
“We have to prepare for the new normal.”
This is the challenge posed by DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III as another advisory on COVID-19 infection prevention measures was released recently.
The advisory, according to Dir. Leysa, simply urges everyone to adjust and adapt to the post-quarantine way-of-life which will be characterized by the mandatory wearing of face masks while in public, maintaining social distancing at all times and other infection prevention measures like the handwashing and frequent disinfection in designated places, both in government or private establishments.
