SOCCSKSARGEN Region made it to the top tier of regions from all over the Philippines to have 100% compliance of all Local Government Units in Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH). This was bared today by DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III, in a meeting with the regional ExeCom. “My warmest congratulations to all of our 53 local government units in Region XII which were declared Passers Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) for CY 2022. It is a great honor to have achieved such, thanks to the perseverance and the tenacity of our field officers,” RD Leysa announced.
On September 13, 2022, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Rehiyon Dose participated in the National Simultaneous Tree Planting Activity with the theme “Buhayin ang Pangangalaga Sa Kalikasan”, on the different planting sites in Region XII identified by the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources (DENR) XII.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government XII through the Office of the Regional Director- Legal Unit led by Atty. Michelle Anne P. Viejo, has conducted the training on “Reinforcing Public Accountability of Local Government Units and Civil Society Organizations through Citizen Participation” on November 15, 2022 at Paraiso Verde, Koronadal City South Cotabato.
Both face-to-face and zoom platforms were utilized during the said event with a total of 41 online participants, and over 60 physical attendees—16 of those were coming from various LGUs while 21 were CSO/ CSDO members.
The DILG Regional Office XII, through the Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD), conducted a Training-Workshop on Streamlining Building Permits and Certificate of Occupancy (BPCO) cum Orientation on the Integration of Barangay Clearance in the LGU Permitting Process on November 3-4, 2022 via zoom platform and a limited face-to-face scheme.
This is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos’s strategic direction as outlined during the SONA. It was highlighted that the government/LGUs need to streamline existing processes, especially on business processes, ensuring that there are no redundancies and overlapping regulations, as per EODB Act of 2018.
