Updating of the Local Revenue Code

5 Local Government Units in Region XII trained on the “Updating of the Local Revenue Code”, these LGUs are Palimbang, Banga, Maasim, Esperanza, and Magpet , with their Municipal Treasurers, Business Permit and Licensing Officers, Budget Officers, Zoning Officers, Legal Officers, and 2 Sanggunian Members with a total of 37 participants held at Paraiso Verde Hotel last October 21-22, 2021. This activity was spearheaded by the Local Government Capability Development Division ( LGCDD ) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG XII).  All invited participants attended the activity physically following strict adherence to minimum health protocol against Covid -19 Virus.

“Kami sa DILG ay patuloy na aalalay at susuporta sa inyu sapagkat ang inyung pag angat ay pag angat ng ating bayan” , said by the  DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido -Leysa CESO III in her opening remarks. She re- assured everyone that DILG XII will guide the  LGUs in complying with all the EODB programs.

The two- day training was prepared in order to provide the concerned functionaries of the necessary tools in ensuring the legality, rationality, and uniformity of local revenue measures they enact. The activity includes discussion on the Salient Features of EODB/EGSD Law RA 11032; BLGF Memorandum Circular NO. 20-2019 entitled,” Local Fees and Charges (LFC) Toolkit on the Review, Setting  and Adoption of  Reasonable Local Fees and Charges”; DILG- DOF JMC on the Rationalization  of LGUs Fees and Charges and Utilization of Local Fees and Charges Toolkit; Overview and Procedures of Local Revenue Code; Overview of the LFC Toolkit; Resource Mobilization. A Workshop on the Model Revenue Code copped the session with facilitators and discussants from DILG Regional Office Focal Person, LGOO V, Almie G. Castillo together with LTOO IV, Jonathan B. Susvilla of BLGF XII.
