QMS (Aligned to ISO 9001:2015) Implementation

The DILG Region XII, in its efforts to provide effective and efficient services to its clients when it comes to serving its mandates, embarked
on establishing a quality management system (QMS) that is aligned to the International Organization for Standardization ( ISO 9001:2015).

On July 4-7, 2017 at Sarangani Highlands Garden, General Santos City, the DILG XII hosted the conduct of the Initial Capability Building on the Establishment of the ISO 9001:2015 QMS for Regions XI and XII with a total of 90 participants wherein the Regional Quality Policy and quality procedures were drafted.

DILG XII created the Regional QMS Structure tasked to document
the requirements of the ISO, facilitate its implementation,
monitor and evaluate its effectiveness and recommend for its
improvement, if necessary.

Seven (7) Focused Group Discussions (FGDs) were conducted for engaging regional and provincial staff. As a result, 51 Quality Procedures, Objectives, Monitoring and Evaluation and Process Summary Log Sheets were formulated to achieve optimum customer satisfaction.

On September 28, 2017 a Regional Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 2017-28 was issued for the implementation of the DILG XII QMS which took effect on October 1, 2017.

Part of the ISO Certification process is the conduct of the Internal Quality Audit, on December 19-22, 2017, after 3 months of implementation by the Regional and Central Internal Quality Auditors to provide information on whether it conforms to the organization’s own requirements for its QMS, the ISO 9001:2015 and to check if it is effectively implemented and maintained.

A certification by the IQA Team is hoped for by January CY 2018.
