NEO Management Team holds CapDev briefing for DILG XII Field Offices

The Department of the Interior and Local Government in coordination with the Local Government Academy (LGA) through the regional NEO Training Management Team conducted an Orientation on the Guidelines in the Implementation of the 2022 Program for Newly-Elected Officials (NEOs) for the DILG field officers of the region on July 15, 2022 via Zoom.

The activity intends to help the NEOs navigate their First 100 Days in the office and explore strategic and transformational actions to improve leadership and management capacities of LGU towards effective service delivery and better performance.

This activity was participated in by fifty-eight (58) DILG Regional and Field personnel which includes the DILG Provincial/City Directors, Provincial/City Focal Persons, Outcome and Program Managers and C/MLGOOs to further capacitate them to become more effective in providing

technical assistance to the newly-elected officials in their respective provinces/cities/municipalities.

In her message, ARD Lailyn A. Ortiz, CESO V, representing RD Josephine Cabrido-Leysa CESO III challenged and encouraged everyone to” work towards the provision of needed technical assistance for the partner LGUs so that they become effective and efficient leaders and govern in a way that considers the future and the next generation”.

ARD Ortiz added “as part of an agency which banners a “Matino, Mahusay at Maaasahang Kagawaran”, you will serve as knowledge provider among the newly-elected officials in your respective provinces. Thus, in order for you to succeed in this journey, you must be willing to take a step in equipping yourselves with the necessary knowledge that will help you create a group of empowered leaders in the region.

She ended her message by reminding all the participants about the saying from an unknown author: “When we recognize our lack of skill and begin the discipline of personal growth, exciting things start to happen.”

The regional training management team members who served as resource persons during the virtual orientation from LGCDD were Jermie A. Erie-Yeager, Chief/LGOO VII, Mary Ann R. Traspe, LGOO VI, Shiela Mae G. Kubik, LGOO IV. Jon Leo S. Licayan, LGOO V of LGMED also discussed various topics about the Implementation of the 2022 Program for Newly-Elected Officials (NEOs).
