Employees and personnel of the Department of the Interior and Local Government XII joined various local government units across the country in celebrating the annual Local Government  Month this October.

The DILG Regional Office XII officially kick-started its month-long celebration on October 12 with the unveiling of its Local Government Code booth located at the DILG Regional Office lobby, Prime Regional Government Center, Koronadal City, South Cotabato.

DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III spearheaded the activity launching, which was aired through Facebook Live and Zoom virtual conference.

Municipal recipients of the national government’s Assistance to Municipalities and Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig para sa Lahat (SALINTUBIG) programs in Region XII will now have to establish and operate a functional website, according to the programs’ 2020 guidelines.

Representatives from the DILG – Office of Project Development Services (OPDS) explained that the requirement was included in the 2020 guidelines of both locally-funded programs, consistent with the Department’s Full Disclosure Policy.

Six more LGUs were given the green light by the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease (RIATF-EID XII) as they receive concurrence to their requests to implement zoning containment strategies in certain areas of their communities with Covid-19 cases.

Region XII recorded the highest compliance rate in the recent nationwide Subaybayan ang Proyektong Bayan (SubayBayan) update, leading other regions in the compliance ranking provided by the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Central Office. 

The Region reached a 95 percent compliance rate based on the SubayBayan portal as of August 25, 2020, the Department’s latest report. This equates to a 13 percent increase from its previous 82 percent compliance rate last July 2020 when it placed second among other regions.

As DILG XII starts out the first day of the virtual orientation for contact tracers on September 29, support for the more than 1500 new hires began to pour in through donations of hygiene kits.

The 620 trainees who were newly hired by the Department composed the 1st batch of contact tracers from the provinces of Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Gen. Santos City and Cotabato City have made it past the initial screening process to become part of the virtual Pre-deployment Training Orientation.
