GENERAL SANTOS CITY- Youth leaders from the comprising 31 barangays of Malungon Municipality in Sarangani Province have recently undergone three-day seminar workshop on the guidelines for the exact utilization of SK funds at the Sarangani Highlands Garden Hotel here in the city.
 
Malungon town MLGOO Rodolfo Jerez, said the opening of the May 15-19 activity was graced by DILG provincial director Flor G. Limpin and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-12 director Gil Castro, who both talked around the importance of a youth dedicated and drug-free services to accomplish the main purpose of the newly created Youth Development Task Force.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (April 8, 2017) – Sarangani Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon confers with Regional Director Reynaldo Bungubung of the Department of Interior and Local Government during the first Provincial Preparedness and Partnership Dialogue on April 6. Bungubung stressed in his remarks the significance of “preparedness and partnership” in dealing with disasters. The primary goal of preparedness “is to avert the loss of lives and assets which can be made possible by ensuring the safety and resilience of communities.” While partnership, like this dialogue, will harmonize interventions in the conduct of various disaster risk reduction management activities, Bungubung said. This activity aims to discuss vital issues and challenges in the implementation of Disaster Preparedness PPAs and initiatives to possibly address them through a dialogue between DRRM project partners and stakeholders and set commitments, plans and timelines for DRRM related activities on the ground for harmonized interventions.

Participants were Municipal Mayors, MLGOOs, MDRRMOs, Chiefs of Police, Fire Marshalls, Youth Leaders, Academe/LRI, Media, Private Organizations and Civil Society Organizations.
