Forty- Four (44) CDP Trainers Ready for the LGUs’ 2019 CDP Updating

On June 11-13, 2019, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII successfully produced 44 CDP Trainers, 25 women and 19 men, after having completed the three (3)- day “Training of Trainers (TOT) on Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) Formulation and Updating” at FB Hotel and Convention Center, Koronadal City, South Cotabato.           

The pool of CDP trainers is composed of thirty- one (31) DILG field officers, eight (8) Provincial Planning Development Office (PPDO) personnel from four (4) provinces, and five (5) representatives from regional offices of Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Population Commission (POPCOM), and Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF).

At the onset, DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido- Leysa, CESO V, gave an Opening Message stressing her fullest support to investing on the advancement of personnel competencies insofar as the DILG mandate on capacity development is concerned. Thus, she motivated the participants to obtain such continuous learning by keeping abreast with the latest CDP processes, tools, and policies as very essential in providing technical assistance to LGUs in updating their respective CDPs come July 2019 after assumption to office of new set of local officials.

 Ms. Giselle Grace G. Gerial, EnP, Assistant LGCDD Chief/ Regional CDP and DRR-CCA Focal Person of DILG Region VI was invited as major Resource Speaker/ Facilitator. She meticulously discussed the “Enhanced CDP Cycle” and administered series of related simulation workshops. Two (2) other discussants from Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) and Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) XII talked about “Urban Planning and Design” and “Revenue Mobilization Forecast”, respectively.        

 As a follow- through, the CDP deliverables for the 2nd semester of CY 2019 was presented to ensure the availability of CDP trainers and prepare eventually for future provision of technical assistance to all LGUs regionwide.
