DILG XII, SSS ink partnership for KaltaSSS-Collect Program

The Department of the Interior and Local Government XII and the Social Security System XII have recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement to provide social security protection to DILG's job order (JOs) and contract of service (COS) personnel through SSS' KaltaSSS-Collect Program.

DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III, together with SSS Regional Director Redentor S. Viola and SSS-Koronadal Branch Acting Head Ms. Rita Fe S. Limbaga, officially signed the MOA, with members of the DILG XII's Executive Committee, JOs, and COS personnel witnessing the event at the DILG XII Regional Office Conference Room, Koronadal City last December 20, 2019.

"This is for the future of our COS and JOs," Regional Director Leysa said during the MOA signing.

The event came as a result of a series of orientations which were conducted for the DILG employees on various SSS services and benefits as part of RD Leysa's initiative to increase the personnel’s financial literacy.

Meanwhile, SSS Regional Director Viola lauded DILG XII for being the first DILG Regional Office in the country to sign a MOA with their agency.

The signed MOA provides support and compulsory coverage of the COS and JO personnel to these services as well as easier remittance through salary deductions.

Some 58 JO and COS personnel of the DILG will benefit from this partnership, the DILG -Finance and Administrative Division has confirmed. Regular or permanent employees may also opt to pay SSS contributions and apply for the same coverage through the SSS Self-Employed Program, Ms. Limbaga said.

Regional Director Leysa hopes that DILG employees would take advantage of this partnership to save and make their money grow.

SSS' KaltaSSS-Collect Program provides social security protection of all self-employed persons and other qualified Filipino workers regardless of trade, business, or occupation against hazards of disability, sickness, maternity, old age, death, and other contingencies.
