DILG Dose Undergoes Assessment for the Red Orchid Award

On July 30, 2024, DILG Dose underwent on-site assessment by Department of Health – Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) XII for the Red Orchid Award. It is an awards system developed by the DOH to encourage government agencies to actively implement 100% Tobacco Free Policy and other anti-smoking policies.

The team of assessors, led by Mr. Jeus Rey Padilla, Project Coordinator of Smoke-free Aklan, evaluated the DILG’s adherence to the standards of Tobacco Prevention and Control based on the guidelines set by the World Health Organization (WHO) Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC).

During the assessment, DILG Dose showcased its various health initiatives and practices, highlighting the efforts taken to maintain and improve health standards within the organization, including policies, information education campaign, and establishment of DILG XII Smoke-Free Corner.

The evaluation, mainly focusing on the effectiveness of smoke-free policies among the DILG Dose personnel, ensured compliance with established health standards, and provided constructive feedback to enhance the DILG Dose’s health initiatives. Additionally, it highlighted the Department’s ongoing efforts to foster a healthier and more informed community.

DILG Dose aims to secure the award for the second time come October 14, 2024.
