The DILG Rehiyon Dose's two (2) divisions namely, the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) and Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU), conducted on February 8, 2023 an online orientation on Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) and Support to Barangay Development Program FY 2022 and 2023 to its target LGUs.
The said activity was attended by the different LGU components, barangay beneficiaries, concerned agencies, and DILG XII key officials. The goal is to "prepare the LGUs, assist the Barangays in developing their Barangay Development Plan (BDP), and capacitate LGUs and their respective CSP Core Teams."
The Orientation was actively facilitated by the LGMED Chief, Musarapha A. Alim, LGMED Assistant Chief, Ian Jon Clemente, and PDMU Chief, Engr. Herminia S. Ontoy, who gave feedbacks, guidelines and information on the subject matter, as well as the realities of project implementation and other challenges for the past year.
In her message, RD Josephine Cabrido- Leysa, CESO III, highlighted the need to prepare the plans right down in the barangay level to ensure the speedy project implementation. "We cannot afford to suffer from delays, simply because we lacked foresight or we have not prepared our plans for our communities," RD Leysa said. She also emphasized that there should be no excuse for delays anymore for 2023.
The online participants also joined the discussions actively, airing their queries and freely exchanged ideas with the resource persons during and after the orientation.
Through the activity, DILG Rehiyon Dose was able to convey the message on the "importance of providing effective technical services to promote excellence in local governance."
