
Continuing its mission to educate and inform, the Serye sa DOSE Gender and Development (GAD) learning session series dedicated this week’s Monday Convocation to an in-depth discussion on Breast Cancer Awareness. The goal of the session was to teach the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) XII members and DILG Dose employee’s important things about the disease, with a focus on how important it is to find it early and take steps to stop it.
Ma’am Marifort R. Rafael, RN, a resource speaker from the Department of Health (DOH) XII, provided an in-depth lecture on breast cancer, including its risk factors, symptoms, and the significance of regular screenings such as mammograms and self-examinations. The discussion emphasized that early detection greatly improves the chances of successful treatment and survival.
The interactive discussion provided clarity on the importance of self-examinations and professional screenings, reinforcing the message that early detection significantly improves treatment success rates.
