RGADC XII STARTS OFF BIG WITH CY 2022 NWMC PREPARATION AND PRESENTATION OF CY 2021 ACCOMPLISHMENTS

The 1st quarter RGADC XII committee meeting was attended by thirty-one (31) out of Fifty-three (53) committee members last February 10, 2022, via zoom online platform (84% - Women, 16% - Men).

Work for true change through compassionate and harmonized actions and network for Gender Equality was the highlight of RGADC XII Chairperson - DILG Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III, in her opening message as she quoted “ Our change shall move towards attaining our AmBisyon 2040 of a strongly rooted (matatag), comfortable (maginhawa), and a secure (panatag) life for all Filipinos.”

After the guidance and message of gratitude to the members by the Chairperson, RSDC Chairperson, Vice/ Co-Chairperson of the RGADC XII PSR Richlie Lyndon Magtulis presided over the meeting; starting with the CY 2022 NWMC Guidelines which was presented by PCW Information Officer III, Ms. Nevicshky P. Calma. She presented the collaterals for the 2022 celebration with the theme: “ We Make Change Work for Women: Agenda ng Kababaihan Tungo sa Kaunlaran”.

Meanwhile, Mr. Don Liongson, Senior GAD Specialist of PCW assisted the committee members with their proposed activities for the celebration. The body also passed a resolution entitled: “RESOLUTION ENJOINING ALL REGIONAL LINE AGENCIES (RLAs), LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS (LGUs), CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS (CSO), STATE UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES (SUCs), GOVERNMENT-OWNED AND CONTROLLED CORPORATIONS (GOCCs) AND OTHER GOVERNMENT INSTRUMENTALITIES TO SUPPORT THE CELEBRATION OF THE CY 2022 NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH”.

The committee members also agreed to submit to the secretariat their NWMC activities not later than February 18, 2021, for the committee’s adoption.

LGOO II Engr. Jahleel Domingo of the secretariat also presented to the body the reports on Regional GAD Resource Pool, GAD Budget Utilization report, and 2022 GFPS Profile updating.

On the other hand, DTI XII’s GAD specialist, Ma. Cristine Vilbar and Dagny Martirizar, OIC Chief of IDD, presented the programs of DTI supporting women, which were administered with HGDG tool to better assess the gender responsiveness of their PAPs. PCW Liongson encouraged every agency to administer HGDG tool.

The meeting ended with a presentation of the accomplishments of the committee last CY 2021, and to start the year right, the first quarter of 2022 will kick off with the NWMC to set a roadmap for a Fully Gender Responsive Region XII.
