“Let us all embrace this call for discipline, if we want to see a much better constituency…”

This was the challenge posed by DILG XII RD Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III to all the officers and troops of PNP Regional Office XII in Tambler, Gen. Santos City at the most recent launching of the Disiplina Muna Advocacy Campaign.

Director Leysa was invited by P/BGen. Michel John F. Dubria, the new PNP XII Director, as the guest of honor and speaker for the said event. The launching for Region XII is part of the nationwide launching of the advocacy campaign made possible through the use of various apps that allow virtual meetings to be conducted by groups of people.

During the regular Monday Flag raising ceremony at the Parade Grounds of PNP Regional Office XII, RD Leysa also awarded a Medalya ng Kagitingan to P/Maj. Romy D. Castanares for his ‘meritorious act during the conduct of hot pursuit operation against” carnappers of a motorcycle on February 21, 2020 at Sito Bleboy, Brgy. Canahay, Surallah, South Cotabato.

The operation eventually led to the arrest of the suspects Arjay Grayn and a minor companion and the recovery of the stolen vehicle and two sachets of suspected shabu during the conduct of body search.

Director Leysa exhorted the awardee to “continue to be an inspiration to others” among fellow police troopers as an “example to be emulated by the others.”

After the Disiplina Muna briefing and presentation, Dir. Leysa expressed her heartfelt message to all the attendees at the PNP XII Multi-purpose Hall, with the presence of PNP XII RD P/BGen. Dubria and all the regional top brass to “live with discipline, apply it in our lives, and help in this campaign by starting with your family, your circle of colleagues and (eventually) the whole force.” She further challenged the PNP officers and personnel to “own” Disiplina Muna and ‘do away with lip service” in compliance to orders.

RD Leysa and RD Dubria led the signing of the pledge of support and other PNP XII personnel affixed their signatures after the ceremonial pledge to Disiplina Muna in a huge ceremonial pledge board as witnessed by all the attendees, both at the conference room and online.
