At least 32 local government units (LGUs) in Region XII has successfully completed the distribution of the first tranche of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) in their respective areas before the deadline set by the National Government, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) confirmed.

DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III expressed gratefulness and elation over the appreciation made by no less than DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Ano on the ‘selfless acts” of Region XII, along with Navotas (Metro Manila) residents who returned or waived a huge amount of their emergency cash assistance for other low-income households. A total of P14.6-million in emergency cash has now ended up in the hands of more deserving recipients.

This is how DILG RD Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III summed it all when he extended congratulations to two Local Government Units (LGUs) of Sarangani Province and Magpet, Cotabato.
“While we battle with this pandemic, we still would like to acknowledge and congratulate our LGUs who did well in implementing our DILG-funded projects. We hope that they will remain as model LGUs and inspire others to do the same,” RD Leysa continued.
Five local projects from four local government units (LGUs) of Cotabato were formally endorsed to DILG Central Office for funding under the Department’s Assistance to Municipalities (AM) Program, DILG XII –Project Development Management Unit (PDMU) confirmed.
Included in the list of projects endorsed for fund release were road projects in Barangay Baranginan, Alamada, Barangay San Mateo, Aleosan, Barangays Kiloyao and Montay, Libungan, and Barangay Labuo, President Roxas.
Employees of the Department of the Interior and Local Government XII have started ‘regular work’ for the month of May after more than half of the ninety-nine (99) personnel and staff adopted the ‘work-from-home scheme’ for about a month due to the community quarantine.
In a message during the Monday convocation, Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III, welcomed the new batch of employees who were given orders to report to work as the adapt and slowly adjust into the “new normal” as the Region shifts from Enhanced Community Quarantine to General Community Quarantine this week.
