DILG XII RELAUNCHES CAFÉ JUANA: CUP WAGI IN CELEBRATION OF 2022 NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH

On the second week of the celebration of the 2022 National Women’s Month, the DILG XII relaunched its Café Juana: Cup Wagi showcasing women empowerment and winning attitude. The activity started with a ceremonial cutting of ribbon and the opening of the café by RD Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III.

The makeshift coffee shop was filled with hashtags describing the qualities and abilities that not only women should have but people with waging attitude. The café offered concoctions with names and catchy lines associated with it; Amerikano - “ang pagmamahal ko sayo ay purong-puro”, highlighting the ability to give deep and unconditional love, Macchiato – “ ‘kaya ko ‘to’ ang motto sa buhay” waging attitude to fight even in the hardest of situation, we are able to show up and say “I can do this”, Juana Tea – “we are like teabags, they can’t tell how strong we are until they put us in hot water” and Espresso – “people with waging attitude express not only emotions, but also intelligence and actions in critical situations”.

The concept of Cup Wagi was personally recommended by the DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III to encourage winning attitude not only among the personnel of DILG XII but also among RGADC XII member-agencies and other partners.

Together with the relaunching of Café Juana is the continuation of Serye sa Dose: Featuring Amazing Juanas including Ms. Latreia E. Estabillo, Asst. Principal for Academics of the Koronadal National Comprehensive High School (KNCHS). She shared three words that would remind women to achieve their goals: strength, confidence and choice. She also graced the activity with a song number.

Another empowered woman featured in the activity was Ms. Agnes D. Daguro, EnP, the City Planning and Development Coordinator of the City of Koronadal. She shared all her experiences, being part of the appointment of the City of Koronadal as the Regional Government Center for SOCSKSARGEN.

DILG XII Asst. Regional Director Lailyn A. Ortiz, CESO V delivered the message of Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III encouraging all the RGADC XII member-agencies to be the first to apply for GAD Seal.

After the activity, Asst. Principal Estabillo and ARD Ortiz spent a little time over a Macchiato in the Café Juana. Some of the DILG XII personnel also enjoyed the coffee blends at Café Juana.
