DILG XII records 31 completed 2019 AM projects; Cotabato Province gets highest completion rate

The Department of the Interior and Local Government XII has confirmed through its Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) that it has recorded a total of 31 completed projects funded under the Department’s 2019 Assistance to Municipalities (AM) Program. The Province of Cotabato topped the list with 16 projects implemented by Municipal LGU-beneficiaries. Reports show that out of the total 31 projects, 27 were local access roads and four were potable water supply system projects.

As of June 4, the Province of Cotabato posted the most number of completed projects with a completion rate of 61.54%, followed by South Cotabato with nine completed projects (50.00%), and Sultan Kudarat Province with six completed projects (42.86%). MLGU beneficiaries from Sarangani Province have yet to report any completed projects. All in all, the Region has a total completion rate of 44.29%.

PDMU bared that the 16 on-going projects include 12 local access roads, three potable water supply systems, and one drug rehabilitation facility project; eight projects for being readied for ad posting, and eight projects are now “under pipeline”. At least seven projects have been suspended when lockdowns were implemented due to CoVID-19.

Region XII has a total of 70 local projects funded under the Department’s 2019 AM program amounting to PHP 387,205,000.00. LGUs are given 500 days upon receipt of the financial subsidy to complete their projects based on the 2019 Guidelines of the program.

DILG XII is also currently assisting its LGUs to comply with the governance reform and technical requirements under the 2020 AM Program. The Regional Office formally endorses the LGU’s proposed projects to DILG Central Office for funding once documents and criteria are met.

AM program is part of DILG’s Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) which aims to assist all municipalities in delivering basic services and implementing priority programs and projects included in their respective Local Development Investment Plans.
