DILG XII building construction in full swing

The Department of the Interior and Local Government XII continues to rush the construction of the third floor to complete its Regional Building located at the Prime Regional Government Center, Koronadal City, South Cotabato.

The Department’s Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) of the Office of the Regional Director (ORD) revealed that the most recent development in the ongoing work includes the pouring of concrete columns, erection and finishing of the building’s concrete walls, installation of roofing trusses, and other masonry works, including the start in the construction of guard house.

Once the whole project is completed, it will also boast an elevator, paved driveways, sidewalks and other landscaping development, and a power house. The Department has resumed the construction of its Regional Building last June 1, 2020 and has a total cost of Php 15, 704, 915.33. It is expected to be completed by October this year.

DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III said this project will provide efficient work spaces for more than 100 of its employees and comfortable waiting areas for guests and clients. “We want to be right on schedule with the completion of this building and the contractor has made commitments to deliver the project as planned,” Dir. Leysa explained.

DILG XII moved to the Prime Regional Government Center after the building’s initial completion of the first two floors in 2017. Prior, the Regional Office occupied and rented Sumpay Building in Barangay Zone II located in the same city.
