DILG XII adds 38 CDP+ trained LGOOs in its roster of coaches

The Department of the Interior and Local Government XII, under the leadership of Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III, has produced additional CDP champions in its roster as it initiated the Training of Trainers on Risk-Informed Comprehensive Development Plan (ToT on CDP+) recently.

A total of 38 CDP+ new coaches, who are capable of providing technical assistance to the LGUs, finished the equipping sessions during their five –day seminar. In the coming months, these coaches will be immersed in various cities and municipalities across the Region to ensure that all LGUs are compliant to DILG MC 2019-172.

What set this Training apart was the participation of RD Leysa as a TRAINEE. She has joined as one of the learners on the enhanced CDP process, with emphasis on how to use the Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA) outputs in mainstreaming DRRM-CCAM concerns to the said plan. The rigorous training sessions were held at the Paraiso Verde Garden Resort and Hotel, City of Koronadal on February 24-28, 2020.

As a staunch believer of the principle “leading by setting a good example”, RD Leysa went through all the sessions as required, along with other ExeCom members namely: PD Ali Abdullah, LGMED Chief Musarapha Alim, LGCDD OIC- Chief Jermie Erie-Yeager, and SAO Mary Ann Traspe.

In her welcome message, RD Leysa reiterated that the said training is in line with the recent directives of the DILG which require the LGUs to submit their approved CDP by June, 2020.

Her message included the due recognition of the vital role of DILG technical officers as CapDev catalysts in guiding the LGUs in coming up with a quality multi-sectoral local development plans.
