The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region XII, through its Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED), successfully conducted the 2nd Quarter ELCAC DILG-led Clusters Meeting held on May 30-31, 2024 at The Farm @ Carpenter Hill in Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
This two-day event brought together various member agencies and Provincial Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) to discuss key milestones, issues, concerns, and plans aimed at supporting communities affected by the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG).
DILG ELCAC Regional Focal Person Ian Jon S. Clemente, in his address, expressed gratitude to the member agencies and PTFs for their dedication and active involvement in the implementation of Executive Order No. 70 (EO 70). He highlighted the importance of the visible and tangible support from all agencies during the Serbisyo Caravans, which local chief executives (LCEs) and communities greatly appreciate.
Police Brigadier General Percival Augustus P. Placer, Regional Director of PNP-PRO 12, also attended the meeting, commending the cluster member agencies for their impactful efforts in the communities.
The meeting saw participation from various agencies, including Police Regional Office XII, 6th and 10th Infantry Divisions, Department of Agriculture XII, Philippine Information Agency XII, Department of Labor and Employment XII, Department of Social Welfare Development XII, National Housing Authority XII, Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconcilation and Unity, Department of Education XII, National Bureau of Investigation XII, Bureau of Fire Protection XII, Department of Justice - Regional Prosecution Office XII, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority XII, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources XII, Department of Trade and Industry XII, and Department of Agrarian Reform XII, alongside the Provincial Task Forces of Cotabato, Sarangani, South Cotabato, and Sultan Kudarat.
The body has reached a total of 27 agreements, likely covering a wide range of initiatives and strategic plans to combat local communist armed conflicts, promote development, and ensure peace and security in the regions. These agreements typically involve coordinated actions, resource allocation, and policy implementations to address the root causes of insurgency and support affected communities.
