DILG Rehiyon Dose personnel and staff welcomes ‘Pag-IBIG-filled’ June with its Financial Literacy Program

DILG Rehiyon Dose’s 3rd Floor Conference Hall (also known as the Wagi Hall) was flooded with Pag-IBIG of a different kind” as the Regional Office delivers another round of its Financial Literacy Program on June 5, 2023 during the Regular Monday convocation.

The lecture, which is a comprehensive orientation on Pag-IBIG MP2 Savings program, was attended by both plantilla and contract-of-service (COS) personnel of DILG XII. The resource person was no less than Engr. Marlon D. Barluado, Pag-IBIG Koronadal City Branch Head and he provided a detailed discussion on the agency’s various programs, provided updates and at the same time, encouraged the DILG XII employees to enroll in Pag-IBIG 2 and have their own savings account in Pag-IBIG MP2.

Engr. Barluado also tackled the topic on loans, specifically the Housing and Short-term loans, which can be availed of by the personnel.

In his discussion, Engr. Barluado also coached the attendees to apply for Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card after he introduced the partner institutions and business establishments that Pag-IBIG is in tie up with, to avail of discounts in their purchases or availment of services.

DILG Rehiyon Dose has so far invited various agencies and entities, including its own pool of resource persons from within the Execom and Regional Staff, to share their own experiences during the previous Financial Literacy Sessions.

DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III, says she has learned from her own financial struggles and experiences in the past and she wants to impart lessons to become more financially stable and have something during the ‘rainy days.’ She stressed that “It is our way of sharing wisdom, especially to the young personnel who might not have decided or has not learned about making investments, saving for the future or managing their earnings. Out of the 162 plantilla personnel of DILG Rehiyon Dose, 74 of them belong to the 25 to 45 age bracket, that’s 45%. I guess there is more or less the same percentage of contract of service personnel as well."

“It is not the love month but we sure have brought a heavy rain of Pag-IBIG for all of our personnel,” RD Leysa stated.
