DILG pushes for disaster “preparedness and partnership”

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (April 8, 2017) – Sarangani Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon confers with Regional Director Reynaldo Bungubung of the Department of Interior and Local Government during the first Provincial Preparedness and Partnership Dialogue on April 6. Bungubung stressed in his remarks the significance of “preparedness and partnership” in dealing with disasters. The primary goal of preparedness “is to avert the loss of lives and assets which can be made possible by ensuring the safety and resilience of communities.” While partnership, like this dialogue, will harmonize interventions in the conduct of various disaster risk reduction management activities, Bungubung said. Gov. Steve presents successful disaster preparedness initiatives
GENERAL SANTOS CITY  (April 8, 2017) – Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon presents Sarangani’s preparedness initiatives during the first Provincial Preparedness and Partnership Dialogue on April 6 where he takes pride of the recent award of being the Best Prepared Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council in Region 12. Malungon was second in the municipal level while Barangay Calabanit, Glan was first in the barangay level. Sarangani has consistently reaped the award for the past four years.
