The Department of the Interior and Local Government – Regional Office 12 recently concluded the National QMS Internal Assessment scheduled last November 4 – 6, 2024 to determine the extent of DILG’s compliance to ISO 9001:2015 standards and applicable legal requirements.
QMS Assessment Head Atty. Salvacion Z. Baccay, CESO V, facilitated the General Opening Meeting and presented the assessment objectives and schedules as well as the QMS Assessment Teams. The meeting was attended by DILG Top Management, Regional and Deputy QMRs, QMS Secretariats, QMS Assessment Teams, Process Owners and Field Officers from all DILG offices nationwide.
In her message, Overall Deputy Quality Management Representative, ASec. Ester A. Aldana, CESO II, emphasized to everyone to be opened to any findings and recommendations that can help improve the QMS implementation. She further said: “Let us continue to view this Internal Assessment as an opportunity to identify areas for improvement and enhance our overall performance and readiness for the external Recertification Audit.”
After the grueling assessment of all quality processes for DILG Region XII, the initial findings were presented by QMS Assessor Atty. Erika Mae Gumabol during the Closing Meeting last November 6, 2024.
Representing the Top Management and the entire DILG Region 12, OIC Assistant Regional Director and Regional Quality Management Representative, Engr. Samuel A. Camaganacan expressed his gratitude to all assessors and auditees for their dynamic participation in the assessment and for the opportunities provided to further enhance the Department's frontline services in line with ISO standards. He also mentioned the importance of evaluating the existing control measures and to continually seek for improvements to effectively implement QMS in the regional setting.
Additionally, Atty. Jane S. Torreon, the Regional Legal Officer and QMS Secretariat Head, extended her appreciation to the Top Management as well as to the Regional and Provincial QMRs, Assessors, Secretariat, Process Owners and Field Officers for the hard work and active participation. She further recommended for stricter and stringent controls for QMS to ensure its effective and efficient implementation across the region.
In the words of Regional Director, Atty. Rochelle D. Mahinay-Sero, CESE, “Let us always remember that the essence of ISO is after all continuous improvement.”
