DILG XII Hosts the Mindanao Cluster Training of LRIs for the CSIS implementation

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) 12 recently hosted the three-day Training of Local Resource Institute (LRIs) for the Implementation of the 2017 Citizen Satisfaction Index System (CSIS) in Municipalities for Mindanao Cluster in General Santos City.

The activity was facilitated by the Bureau of Local Governance Supervision (BLGS) headed by Assistant Division Chief Jose Denver Q. Calo and the DILG XII. Said activity was participated in by seven (7) Local Research Institutes (LRIs), namely: St. Columban College (SCC) from Region IX, Capitol University (CU) and Mindanao State University- Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) from Region X, University of Mindanao (UM) and Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology (DOSCST) from Region XI, Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) from Region XII and St. Paul University of Surigao (SPUS) from Region XIII.

Regional Director Reynaldo M. Bungubung, CESO IV, emphasized the importance of the Citizens Feedback through CSIS and commended all the LRIs partners in helping the DILG in strengthening the Local Government Units on the delivery of quality services to the people concerning on Health, Education, Social Services, Governance and Response, Public Works and Infrastructure, Environmental Management and Economic and Investment Promotion.

The training covered discussions on salient areas of CSIS especially in the conduct of interview, in using  the Kish Grid and in filling- up the  CSIS Portal. The highlight of the activity was Trial Field Coverage wherein the LRIs were divided into three (3) groups and had their actual interview in the selected barangays of Polomolok, South Cotabato namely: Barangays Cannery, Poblacion and Pagalungan. Each group has its respective DILG Regional Focal Persons and technical personnel from the BLGS to observe whether or not the LRIs are doing the right procedure in allocating the sample spot location using the Kish Grid and the probable respondent for interview. After the field interview, there was a sharing of experiences per group wherein the LRIs had their comments and recommendations for the effective implementation of CSIS.

MSU-IIT was identified by the BLGS as the best LRI and was given the opportunity to have a hands-on training in the CSIS Portal which was conducted after the Closing Program.
