BARKADA 6th Week Clean Up Drive Showcasing Barangay Poblacion, Municipality of Tupi, South Cotabato

In a remarkable display of community collaboration and dedication to environmental stewardship, Barangay Poblacion, Municipality of Tupi, took center stage as the showcased barangay for the 6th week of the BARKADA Kalinisan Day. The community embarked on a collective effort to promote up cleanliness and sustainability in their area.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 12, led by Officer-in-Charge Regional Director Atty. Rochelle D. Mahinay-Sero, CESE represented by Ali Hayd Suwaib together with the LGCDD Division Chief Musarapha Alim and Asst. Division Chief Jon Ian Clemente, MLGOO Juanito Agullana, played a pivotal role in orchestrating the event. Alongside the DILG team, representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and local government officials, including Honorable Mayor Romeo S. Tamayo, lent their support and participation.

In a heartfelt message, Mayor Tamayo emphasized the importance of individual commitment to cleanliness "all of this should start with ourselves and our own surroundings, let's make it a habit to prioritize our own homes" his words underscored the significance of personal responsibility in maintaining a clean environment and echoed the sentiment that a cleaner community begins with each household.

Barangay Poblacion Chairman, Honorable Vergel Javier, echoed this sentiment and pledged unwavering support from his council and constituents for all activities related to clean-up drives. He affirmed their commitment to Mayor Tamayo's challenge and vowed to actively participate in efforts to promote cleanliness and sustainability within their barangay.

The event culminated in a symbolic pledge of commitment recited by all constituents of Barangay Poblacion, Tupi, South Cotabato. With hands raised and voices united, they vowed to uphold the principles of cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and community unity.

Following the pledge, participants embarked on a comprehensive clean-up drive across the Barangay Poblacion area. Armed with brooms, garbage bags, and unwavering determination, volunteers combed through streets, parks, and public spaces, clearing away litter and debris to restore the beauty of their community.
