Banga’s People’s Council approves by-laws, plans for sustainable progress

Members of the People’s Council from the Municipality of Banga, South Cotabato successfully approved its Constitution and By-Laws and three-year Development Plan as they aim to institutionalize the Council and assist the local government unit achieve sustainable progress in the municipality. 

The Council sealed this remarkable milestone during its 2nd Annual Assembly in Blue Haven resort and Restaurant, Banga last March 18, 2024, with the theme, “Working together in a holistic Approach in attaining a Sustainable and Progressive Life for the People of Banga,"  which was graced by various local partners and stakeholders.

Kasilak Committee Chairperson Julius Ceasar Maniego explained that institutionalizing the Council would ensure its effectiveness and sustainability in providing service to communities. Meanwhile, the three-year development plan shall serve as the Council’s strategic map in fostering sustainable development and improving the residents’ quality of life.  

A staunch advocate of community empowerment, the Department of the Interior and Local Government XII graced the activity and showed its support to the Council’s initiatives and further highlighted the significance of unity and cooperation in strengthening an organization in achieving its collective goals. 

"Ang ating kooperasyon ang siyang magpapatibay ng ating organisasyon", Local Governance Capability Development Division (LGCDD) Chief Jermie Erie-Yeager said during the assembly as she delivered the Keynote Message of OIC-Regional Director Atty. Rochelle D. Mahinay-Sero, CESE. 

The approved constitution and by-laws will serve as the guidelines for the Banga People's Council. Additionally, a three-year Development Plan will mark the commencement of their efforts to realize their goals. This plan will be submitted to the LGU and other relevant agencies/institutions to seek funding support.
