As a response to the government’s effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII promptly implemented temporary flexible work arrangements and intensified its sanitation and hygiene measures for its employees.

The Department will follow work from home and skeletal workforce arrangement from March 23 until April 12, 2020, to ensure the employees’ health and safety. Business hours will remain the same from 8:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the afternoon (Mondays to Fridays), the Department confirms.

With the reports about the frequent occurrences of accidents along national highways involving motorcycles with sidecar locally known as “tricycles” and pedicabs (also called a cycle rickshaw, bikecab, cyclo, trishaw or rickshaw- a pedal-powered means of transportation), DILG Secretary Eduardo Año stressed that the Memorandum Circular no. 2020- 036 only seeks to ensure the safety of the riding public and the drivers themselves.

The Regional Financial Monitoring Team (RFMT) has finally released the results of the recently held Coordination Meeting with the concerned LGUs in Koronadal City. The said meeting was purposely held as a venue to reconcile the discrepancies between the Department and LGUs’ financial reports and update the latter’s liquidation rate.

The meeting was held last February 27, 2020, and was attended by 39 Municipal and Provincial LGUs accountants with pending balances.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government XII, under the leadership of Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III, has produced additional CDP champions in its roster as it initiated the Training of Trainers on Risk-Informed Comprehensive Development Plan (ToT on CDP+) recently.

A total of 38 CDP+ new coaches, who are capable of providing technical assistance to the LGUs, finished the equipping sessions during their five –day seminar. In the coming months, these coaches will be immersed in various cities and municipalities across the Region to ensure that all LGUs are compliant to DILG MC 2019-172.
