“KORONADAL CITY: 1st in South Cotabato Conducts CBMS- APP Training Using Android Tablets”

A total of ninety- eight (98) participants from twenty seven (27) barangays in Koronadal City completed the Training of Trainers (TOT) on “Community- Based Monitoring System Accelerated Poverty Profiling (CBMS APP): Module 1: Data Collection using CBMS Scan and CBMS Portal” held on March 13- 17, 2017 at the Conference Room, City Hall of Koronadal City, South Cotabato. 

    The participants comprising the 71 enumerators and 27 field editors of the City had successfully conducted hands- on exercise using their android tablets in familiarizing the Household Profile Questionnaire (HPQ). Simulated field survey was also performed at Purok Villegas, Barangay Zone III in preparation for their 44- day deployment all throughout the City which immediately commenced on 20th day of March, 2017.

City Local Government Operations Officer (CLGOO), Mr. Juanito B. Agullana, emphasized in his opening remark the relevance of CBMS Program as mandated poverty diagnosis tool to all LGUs in developing a more effective and responsive local planning and program implementation. Similarly, City Administrator Cyrus Urbano gave an Inspirational Message whom likened the “data to be collected to that of vehicle dashboard that will provide the city government with the most recent and factual basis in the formulation of programs, projects, and other appropriate poverty interventions”.  .

DILG CBMS Regional Training Team headed by LGOOV Rommelyn A. Damasco together with LGOO IV Melroy B. Manait untiringly provided the technical assistance in the entire duration.  Two (2) other DILG regional personnel also completed the TOT activity who eventually will join the Team in CBMS roll- out to remaining untrained LGUs in the Region.
