“DILG 12 conducts the Provincial Strategic Direction Setting Conference Cum Alliance BuildingWorkshop”

    In compliance with the Local Development Council (LDC)  Strengthening Activities set forth in DILG Memorandum Circular no. 2017- 84 on ‘Guidelines for Strengthening Linkage of National/ Regional/ Provincial Development Strategies, Programs, Projects and Activities (PPAs) with the Comprehensive Development Plan’, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII conducted the Provincial Strategic Direction Setting Conference cum Alliance Building Workshopinfour (4) provincesheld consecutively on August 16- 18, 2017 for South Cotabato, August 23- 25, 2017 for Sarangani, August 29- 31, 2017 for Sultan Kudarat, and  September 06- 08, 2017 for Cotabato Province.Participants were the Local Development Council- Executive Committees (LDC- ExeComs)composed of Local Chief Executives, City/ Municipal Planning Development Coordinators, Liga ng mga Barangay Presidents, Chairman of the Committee on Appropriations of Sangguniang Bayan/ Panlungsod, and Civil Society Organization representativesof component LGUstogether with DILG City/ Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (C/MLGOOs). 

This provincewide activity generally aims to achieve both the vertical alignment of all development plans from national to local levels and the horizontal linkage of local planning in harmonization of all the budgeting tools/ processes involved in Public Financial Management (PFM)as enunciated in DILG-NEDA- DBM- DOF Joint Memorandum Circular 2016- 01. It also provides a venue for the Provincial Development Council (PDC)- Execoms to convene and interface with its constituent C/MDC- Execoms for alliance building. 

The activity came to success through the untiring support of the DILG Regional Management led by Regional Director Reynaldo M. Bungubung, CESO IV who recognized the efforts of sharing the valuable insights and expertise of our regional line agency- partners particularly theNational Economic Development Authority (NEDA) 12, Department of Budget and Management (DBM) 12, Bureau of Local Government and Finance- Department of Finance (BLGF- DOF) 12, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) 12, and National IntelligenceCoordinating Agency (NICA) 12.

As a finale, all the participating LDC- Execoms of fifty (50) component cities and municipalities and City/ Municipal Planning Development Coordinators are expected to conduct the Participatory Project Prioritization Conference Workshop not later than 28th of September, 2017 in their respective localities.
