DILG XII Regional Director Josephine Carbido-Leysa, CESO III has joined DILG Undersecretary Marlo I. Iringan, the Undersecretary for Local Government, as resource persons in a virtual meeting with the Committee on Local Government of the House of Representatives on July 21. The virtual meeting was called to deliberate on some major house bills creating legislative districts in Region XII, specifically in South Cotabato.

DILG XII goes full swing in its preparations for the much-anticipated Knowledge Fair on July 29 which will also feature the ceremonial signing of Local Governance Consortium in SOCSKSARGEN and the launching of the DILG XII’s own Youtube Channel.
In one of the regular updating and briefing sessions, RD Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III said she ‘looks forward to the holding of this event’, as one of the big events planned out by the Regional Office. “We are pushing for ‘positive peace’ in the Region and through this Fair, we will be able to feature some materials which are relevant, timely and appropriate with our campaign,” the Director explained.

The National Task Force against COVID-19 Chief Implementer Sec. Carlito G. Galvez, Jr., assured the local chief executives of the provincial LGUs of Socsksargen and the city of Gen. Santos of the sufficient volume of Covid-19 vaccine in the coming months.
This was the commitment of Sec. Galvez, also named as the country’s vaccine czar, in a recent meeting with Region XII officials as he led of Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (CODE) Team in their visit to Gen. Santos City. He clarified that the distribution of the vaccines will be ’equitable’ and will not be based on ‘performance’ or how an LGU could speed up its vaccination scheme.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII is looking forward to improved knowledge product outputs for the Local Governance Resource Center (LGRRC) DOSE - the knowledge hub of the Department after facilitating a two-day training on basic photography and editing for its personnel.
Since early this year, DILG XII is strengthening its knowledge hub and communication efforts through various partnership agreements, multimedia platforms, and training programs to rise to the challenge to remain relevant as the country continues its battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

To reinstill the accountabilities of all elective and appointive officers and employees of the local government units and the Department of Interior and Local Government XII, through its Local Regional Resource Center in coordination with the Bantay-Korapsyon Program- PMO conducted the Usapang Legal 2.0: BKP Webinar on Reinforcing Public Accountability for Local Governments and Civil Society Organizations.
In her welcome message, DILG-12 Regional Director (RD) Josephine Cabrido- Leysa CESO III, accentuated the importance of reinforcing and re-echoing public accountability to local elective officials and participative governance with Civil Society Organizations.
