Twenty-six member-agencies of the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) XII convened at Mt. Sabrina Hotel, General Santos City to discuss and advance gender and development (GAD) initiatives in the region.

 

Jermie Erie Yeager, Chief of the Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD), delivered the opening message on behalf Committee Chairperson Atty Rochelle D. Mahinay – Sero, CESE, emphasizing the importance of the discussions for regional development.

 

Presided by CGDH II Judith Janiolam, the committee meeting featured a strong agenda focused on fostering inclusive development.

Davao City- The Department of Trade and Industry-National Project Coordination Office (DTI-NPCO) recently held a conference from May 13-17, 2024. The goal was to speed up the preparation of technical documents for targeted Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) and kickstart procurement this year.

The event, led by DTI-NPCO, focused on fast-tracking the documentation process needed for the Farm to Market Infrastructure (FMI) project. This project aims to strengthen local agricultural economies and promote sustainable rural development.

Better transport experience and education within reach – these are just some of the benefits the residents of Arakan, Province of Cotabato will now enjoy as the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) XII formally turned over road and school building projects seven recently cleared barangays against armed conflict under the government’s End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) Program.

On May 10, 2024, Barangay Zion, Maitum, Sarangani Province,together with the PTF- ELCAC of Sarangani and MTF-ELCAC of Maitum, in collaboration with the Regional Task Force (RTF), held the Serbisyo Caravan Para Sa Sarangan and Dumanon Kailian initiatives.

 

Approximately 400 households in Barangay Zion received social welfare, health care, and educational assistance. Among rendered services were comprised of feeding programs, free circumcision and haircut, tooth extraction, medical check-ups with prescribed medicines, reading eyeglasses distribution, and slippers, among others.

Barangay Poblacion in Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat took center stage during Week 18 of the BarKaDa (Barangay Kalinisan Day) clean-up drive, a pivotal aspect of the nationwide KALINISAN (Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) Program.

Community residents, alongside the barangay local government unit, collaborated with various sectors including 4Ps, BPATS, BHW, Purok Presidents, and Senior Citizens, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the cause rooted in the spirit of Filipino Bayanihan.
