In a bid to further advance good governance in SOCCSKSARGEN Region, DILG Regional Director Atty. Rochelle D. Mahinay-Sero, CESE, met with Kidapawan City Mayor Atty. Jose Paolo M. Evangelista and Banisilan Mayor Jesus F. Alisasis on January 21, 2025. The meeting focused on strengthening partnerships to support both LGUs in their efforts toward the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).

RD Mahinay-Sero commended Kidapawan City for its consistent performance as an SGLG awardee, recognizing the city’s exemplary governance and innovative initiatives. She further assured Mayor Evangelista of DILG’s continued support to sustain the city’s high standards in governance.

Mayor Evangelista, for his part, reaffirmed his commitment to “working closely with the people” as the cornerstone of his administration’s success. He emphasized that the city’s consistent recognition in the SGLG is a result of proactive collaboration between the local government and its citizens.

Meanwhile, the discussion with Banisilan highlighted the municipality’s aspiration to join the ranks of SGLG awardees. Mayor Alisasis conveyed his dedication to fostering “compassionate service with a heart” and inclusive governance. RD Mahinay-Sero expressed optimism about Banisilan’s potential, pledging technical support and capacity-building initiatives to assist the municipality in meeting the rigorous standards of the SGLG.

This partnership underscores DILG’s mission to empower local governments and promote transparent, accountable, and inclusive governance across Region 12. With Kidapawan City’s leadership serving as an inspiration and Banisilan’s determination to elevate its performance, the meeting marks a promising step toward achieving sustainable progress in the region.
