Barangay Dajay, the thriving community in Surallah, South Cotabato, takes prides in championing community involvement towards a safe and cleaner environment for the health and well-being of its residents. This commitment was showcased during the 21st week of Barangay Kalinisan Day (BarKaDa) on June 1, 2024, as part of the Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program.
Led by Punong Barangay Christopher Lazo, the activity was actively participated by Sangguniang Barangay and SK Officials, barangay staff, lupon members, day care workers, purok presidents, barangay health workers, Community Affairs Network Office (CANO) workers.
Highlighted in the said activity was the participants’ recitation and signing of the Pledge of Commitment, as well as the subsequent clean-up activity of the waterways and barangay roads along the national highway.
Also present during the activity were Surallah Mayor Pedro M. Matinong, Jr., Sangguniang Bayan Member Harold B. Eslabon, Acting MENRO Engr. Roldan Eusoya, DILG South Cotabato OIC-Provincial Director Hayd-Ali S. Suwaib, MLGOO Surallah Mary Fe T. Soto and other personnel from DILG Regional and South Cotabato Provincial Offices.
BarKaDa program reaffirms the importance of community involvement and grassroots actions in protecting and maintaining the welfare of the environment for the betterment of the future generations.
