Davao City- The Department of Trade and Industry-National Project Coordination Office (DTI-NPCO) recently held a conference from May 13-17, 2024. The goal was to speed up the preparation of technical documents for targeted Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) and kickstart procurement this year.
The event, led by DTI-NPCO, focused on fast-tracking the documentation process needed for the Farm to Market Infrastructure (FMI) project. This project aims to strengthen local agricultural economies and promote sustainable rural development.
The session began with an overview of the RAPID Growth Project- FMI presented by RD Flora Politud-Gabunales, the Project Director of RAPID. Then, Engr. Richard Cruz provided updates on the RAPID Growth FMI Sub-Project Implementation Status. Following that, Engr. Rose Michelle Q. Diampa-Rural Infrastructure Specialist introduced the session's objectives and resource persons.
Attendees from Region XII included Engr. Hermina S. Ontoy, Chief of the Project Development Management Unit (PDMU), along with Geoffrey Villaga, Engineer III of the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region XII, and representatives from LGUs Alamada & Matalam, Province of Cotabato.
Other regions, like XI (Bansalan, Davao del Sur) and XIII (Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte), also participated, contributing valuable insights and perspectives.
The collaborative efforts observed during the session demonstrate a shared dedication to speeding up rural development and promoting sustainable growth nationwide.
